1 Corinthians 15:1

Have you ever stopped to think: "What if there was no Calvary?" "What if Jesus lived a long life and died of old age?" "What if He just taught good lessons and died naturally?" "If Jesus did not die for you, where would you be today?"

Sometimes when we think of what could've been, it encourages us to think more deeply about what did happen and appreciate it even more.

It's up to us to show our appreciation for what Jesus did on Calvary's cross. Does someone have to tell you to appreciate what Jesus did? Or did you worship God automatically as you think on what He's done.

  1. If He didn't die on the cross, there would not be a payment for sin.
    1. 1 Corinthians 15:1-15 (EE) - There is a message of Good news that we have been told - Because of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, God chooses to forget your sin!
  2. If He didn't live again, there would be no afterlife for us.
    1. Revelation 21 - John saw a place with no more dying, shame, or trouble. It is a possibility for us and we can go there if we believe in Jesus' life, death, and resurrection.
  3. If He didn't live again, there would be no gift to receive.
    1. 1 Corinthians 15:16-17 (EE) - We need what Jesus did. He did really die... so that we wouldn't have to. All we have to do is believe this truth and receive His free gift of eternal life.
  4. If He didn't live again, then we are to be pitied as the saddest people on earth.
    1. 1 Corinthians 15:18-19 (EE) - If this is the only life and there is no future, then we are the saddest people on the earth.
  5. If He didn't live again, we will never live again.
    1. 1 Corinthians 15:20 (EE) - Because He lived again, if you believe in Him, you will one day live again as well.

If you die today, where are you going?
