John 10:10

It is our responsibility to not only be a hearer, but be a doer of the Word. (James 1:22)

Read Hebrews 10:25-27 and don't take the gift you've received of Jesus and throw it back in His face. Remember to show appreciation when you receive a gift. Jesus gave us the gift of His life so that we can be with His Father forever in heaven.

After we receive Jesus, we have to build into our relationship with Him.

  • Read John 10:10 - Jesus comes so that we might not just have life but that we would have it abundantly (overflowing joy) and be able to enjoy it.
  • Psalm 37:25 remind us that those who are uncompromisingly righteous are not forsaken.

Satan's mission is to rob you of the life God has prepared for you.

  • He plans to annihilate your faith in God, but God has confidence in you that you will not turn your back on him, even when it's hard.
    • Sometimes we question God when we are going through and dealing with so much. Psalm 34:19 says "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all." God is always with you, even when you question your own faith. We think God abandoned us, but how can we be alone if God is everywhere? You are not alone! God is with you all the time!
  • The enemy steals our peace, our joy, and our time. He comes to distract you, tempt you, and even offers good things to pull you away from God.

Satan comes to destroy your destiny, faith, and soul.

  • The enemy wants you to think a lie is the truth.
  • The enemy tries to isolate you through offense or shame.
  • The enemy tries to distract you with everything.
  • The enemy tries to discourage you making you feel like you're too far gone.

But God wants to bless you through your relationship.

  1. Having a relationship with God means living in a personal ongoing relationship with Him. Don't get so blessed that you forget about God.
    1. Don't forsake the assembly of the church. (Hebrews 10:25)
    2. Know God as Father, friend, and guide.
  2. To develop a relationship with God:
    1. Regularly communicate with Him. - Talk to Him and listen to Him. Keep your mind stayed on Him so that you might have perfect peace. (Jeremiah 33:3, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
    2. Trust Him & have Faith in Him - In the good times and the bad. God can do the impossible.  If He did it before, He can do it again.
    3. Obey Him. Put your life in alignment with His will. Choose to do what He wants that will reflect His character. (Romans 12:1-2, John 14:15)
    4. Love Him and Worship Him. - Psalm 95:6 says "O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our God our Maker." Give Him ALL the praise that He deserves. Bless the Lord, even when times are hard. Stay in the face of our Heavenly Father.
    5. Growth & Transformation - God doesn't leave you the way you are but is working in you to bring it to completion. (2 Corinthians 5:17, Philippians 1:6)

Get ready.
