If God is the head of your life, then everything else comes under the headship of God. If God is NOT in your life, there is a void. It can only be filled by God.
With God in your life, you can truly live life to the fullest. Are you just existing or are you truly living life to the fullest?!
- True Life Begins When we are Redeemed
- John 10:10 "The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)". (AMPC)
There are rules / laws to living the redeemed life.
-
- Don't trust material things. When you don't put your hope and trust in material things, God will bless you with everything you need. Even when you lose it all, you still have your life.
- Give God All of you.
- Give Him Your Sin. God wants to save you from sin! Sin is anything contrary to what God said for us to do. Give God your sin and don't return to it. Instead do exactly what God says to do. 1 John 1:9 says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Many people change God's Word so that they can continue sinning. Be careful and do not alter what God says!
- In what ways have you experienced people twisting God's Word?
- What sin might God be asking you to surrender? (Quietly talk to God)
- Give Him your Gratitude. Thank God for all He's given. He has given you eternal life, not just life on this earth. You are able to worship Him freely on this earth and will be with Him forever in heaven if you have received His free gift of salvation. He's been good to you before, now, and forever. He has cleansed you from ALL sin. 1 John 1:7-8
- Consider the sin you feel sticks with you even though God has cleansed you from it. How do you show yourself grace? How do you thank Him for forgiveness?
- Do not return to your sin.
- Isaiah 59:2 "But the wrong things that you have done have made you separate from your God. Your sins have hidden (his) face from you, so that he will not listen (to you)".
- According to this verse, what does our sin do to our relationship with God?
- Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
- In what ways are you telling God with your mouth that you love Him, but living life like you don't?
- Isaiah 59:2 "But the wrong things that you have done have made you separate from your God. Your sins have hidden (his) face from you, so that he will not listen (to you)".
- Be careful how you treat others. If others see Christ in you, then they will be drawn to God.
- How are you exhibiting Christ through you? Do you love others who are still struggling with sin? How do you see and respond to people who don't surrender fully to God? (Read Matthew 7:5)
What is sin? Sin effects you spiritually, emotionally, physically
- Sin separates you from God and his blessings, leading to eternal death. (Read Isaiah 58)
- Sin enslaves a person - it is powerful. The more you endure, the harder it is to break away. A person becomes controlled by their sin - a slave (Read John 8:34).
- Sin destroys relationships. Specifically pride, lies, anger, and selfishness ruins relationships with others. (Read James 4:1)
- Sin corrupts the mind and confuses the person. The more you sin, the easier it is to do without feeling remorse. (Read Romans 1:28) Your conscious will become dull and you call evil good and what's good, you call evil.
- Sin ultimately leads to em[ptness and loneliness (Isaiah 57:21) You cannot have peace when you're in sin.
- Sin leads to death (Read Romans 14:17). (Revelation 20:15) Eternal death is due to everyone who sins and lets sin lead their life.
