1. Silence doesn't mean God has abandoned you. (Psalm 13) Even when He seems quiet, remember God is always with you! He will not let you die! Maybe you are going through a test, but the teacher is still there with you. You will not be left alone, no matter how difficult it gets! - Peter started sinking after walking on water to reach Jesus, but Jesus never left him. - Job lost everything and was even hurt in his body but God was still with him.
  2. Silence is sometimes during spiritual growth - (James 1:2-4) Sometimes God allows for difficult times and it seems like He is silent, but He's just waiting for us to grow as we learn the lesson. The teacher hasn't left. God is working until it is (we are) complete. Sometimes when you're going through something for a long time, God might be trying to do something in you where you can encourage someone else in the future. God is doing something in you to help others.
  3. Silence doesn't mean God is not working - (John 11 - Story of Lazarus) Even if a situation looks dead, it doesn't mean that it is. Lazarus was considered dead in the eyes of his sisters and peers, but Jesus called him asleep and declared that He is the resurrection. God was working toward something greater, arranging things for your good!

What do you do when it seems like God is silent?

  1. Examine your own heart - if anything is wrong, as Him to change it.
  2. Remember God's past faithfulness - don't forget the things He's already done for you!
  3. Keep praying and trust Him - He will come through again!
