Glorious - honorable, dignified, amazing, fantastic, awe-inspiring
Through Jesus Christ, we walk in the glory of God. The full weight of God. All of His power, kindness, creativity.
- Glorious is all the things about God. He is dignified - majestic in appearance.
- Majestic is a person, rank or status placed at a high and powerful level. God is exalted, over the president, congress, senate. We serve a living God!
- Splendid - excellent, very good, elegant, dazzling, excellent, having control over all
- Radiant - sending out light, shining brightly
Even in difficult times, we have to keep walking. The scriptures have all we need for encouragement.
The glorious God always comes through, even in the last minute!
- Job - he lost everything and his wife told him to curse God and die. Walking in the glorious nature of God isn't always easy. We have to stand when things are difficult.
- We see it in Abraham when he was asked to sacrifice his son, but God provided a lamb to spare the boy's life.
- We see it in Joshua, when he led the people to walk around the walls until they finally came tumbling down.
- We see Daniel and the three Hebrew boys who were told to bow to the king or be burned alive. They were put in a furnace so hot that those who put them in, burned up.
God doesn't just show up at the end, He is always with us. But we cannot give up.
Psalm 90:1 - The Lord us our dwelling place
"Dwell" - to sit down, abide in habit, remain in the shekanah - divine presence where God is,
Whenever God dwells in a place, His shekanah glory is there - even in us. "oikeo" - abides, rest, put down roots, glorious peace, enlightenment, power. God is always with us, where are you?
We are not called to be "thermometers" (something that goes up and down with the emotions around us). We are called to be a "thermostat", set to a temperature that represents God. A thermostat doesn't move because the times are changing. Don't let anyone set your temperature but God.
We have the grace of God, but let God set your thermostat.
Zion is calling me to a higher place of praise! To stand upon the mountain and declare His holy name. To tell all the people in every nation that He reigns. Zion is calling me to a higher place of praise.
