Daniel 3:18

Hebrews 4:12 reminds us that God's Word is alive, powerful, and active. So if we hide the Word of God in our hearts, we will be able to face anything that comes our way.

David reminds us that we ought to hide the Word of God in our hearts. That's when we know "Greater is He who is in YOU, than He who is in the world."  When the Word of God is in You, God is in You, working all things together for your good.

Daniel 3:17-18

'If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” '

If things don't turn out how you want, God is still God. He is all-powerful!

In Luke 10:19, Jesus says "Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you."

We can look at the serpents and scorpions and think things are terrible, but that's not the entire story. When you're in a situation, you have to wait until it's finished to understand the purpose, and remember God has given you authority, like He did for the three Hebrew boys.

  1. God is still God in the fire (Daniel 3)
  2. God is still God when it looks like the enemy is going to win - even when you're losing, you're winning!!
    1. In the story of Job, it looked like he was losing because everything was taken away, but he still worshipped. (Read Job 1:20) He didn't focus his eyes on what was wrong, lost, causing pain. Sometimes, we have to remember that gold isn't pure until it goes through fire, gets melted down, and then the impurities are scraped off.
  3. God is still God when victory comes. (Exodus 15:1-3)
  4. God is still God in the midst of the storm. (Mark 4:35-41)
  5. God is still God even in times of silence. (Habukkuk 3:17-19)

God says "He will never leave you, nor forsake you" in Deuteronomy 31:8 and again in Hebrews 13:5.
