Mark 11:22-24

God makes ALL THINGS possible.

If God has done it before, we know He will do it again.  If that's true, then we have to give it to God. Sometimes we cannot change a situation, even with our limited power, but God is all-powerful. There is none like Him. He can handle ALL of our problems at the same time. (Isaiah 9:6-7)

Faith in God is not just trusting Him for the ordinary, but believing Him for the impossible. Throughout scripture, God achieves what seems to be impossible or unattainable.

Mark 11:22 tells us to first have faith in God, then to speak to the "mountains" in our life that are big. We are to tell those things to be removed and cast into the sea. He tells us not to doubt, but to believe that those things will come to pass. God never says to climb the mountain.

God has done this before, telling the woman with the issue of blood that she is healed, or telling Jairus's dead daughter to wake up, and so many other times. You have to have faith. God specializes in doing the unachievable. He is a miracle working God. We must trust in His ability to make the impossible possible.

  1. God's power is unlimited. It's immeasurable. It goes on forever. Who wouldn't trust in a God without limits? God's power is not constrained by
    • Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing shall be impossible." Read Luke 1:7-14, 18 for context. This is a story of Zechariah and Elizabeth who couldn't have a child and were getting old.
      1. In verse 18, Zechariah was looking at the physical and at his own abilities.
      2. In verse 19, the angel told him that God sent him to deliver this good news. God loves us and has favor, grace, and kindness on us, giving to us what we need.
      3. In verse 20, the angel disciplines him and doesn't allow him to speak until the baby is born because with his mouth, he could delay or deny the blessing. Proverbs 18:21 warns us about the power of the tongue. What might you be speaking falsely? Do you believe God for what you've asked Him? The Bible says in Philippians 4:13 that we can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us.
      4. In verse 20, the angel says his message will become true at the right time. Our faith must match God's truth.
  1. Faith in God's Promises Moves Mountains What are God's promises?
    • Psalm 118:17 "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord."
    • Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the Lord , and he will give you the desires of your heart.
    • Proverbs 4:20-22 "My son, attend to my words;
    • Philippians 4:13
    • Philippians 4:19 "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
    • Matthew 17:20
      • Faith, no matter how small can yield incredible results. When planted and nurtured, even our small faith can see miracles. We have to exercise our faith. Trust that God can use your faith, no matter how small and do great big things.
  2. God's Timing is Perfect
    1. God is always with you. He doesn't leave you - ever! He is always available.
      • Hebrews 13:5 "Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
      • Psalms 46:1 'God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. '

      • Romans 4:20-21 'But he did not doubt or waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and empowered by faith, giving glory to God, being fully convinced that God had the power to do what He had promised. '

We can trust in God's promises. Everything He says, we can believe that He will do.

      • Isaiah 55:11 So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me void (useless, without result), Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.
