First Praise God! In Him we live and move and have our being, so we thank God for life today.
So much is happening today in our society. It's very important to live your life as Christ asks you to. We believe in the return of the Lord one day. We don't know the day or the hour, but He will return. Are you ready? Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Live today as though it's your last.
- Don't listen to what people say, ONLY listen to what God says.
Do not be fooled. Try to look beyond the nonsense.
'Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. ' - John 8:44
Be careful to listen ONLY to what God is saying.
'But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. ' Matthew 4:4
We are not to listen to what is just in the natural. We are to look beyond that to the supernatural. Remember that no matter who is president, Jesus is King. He is our provider, not the government. We don't NEED the government, we NEED Jesus. He is our bread, our sustanence, and we must live by what He says. In what ways are you hearing others' opinions and thoughts?
'I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. ' John 17:15-17
Remember, the prince of evil, who was given power of this world, is the Father of lies. This is not our world. We are only here temporarily. We don't have to accept what the world gives us or tells us. We are only passing through. Wouldn't we rather be sanctified in truth? Are you reading what the Word of God says?
2. Don't allow yourself to live in fear.
Don't be afraid. Many people live in fear because they don't know the truth. It doesn't matter what happens Tuesday, we are going to be okay because God is sovereign and in control.
'For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. ' 2 Timothy 1:7
Every power that has been set up was ordained by God. Whether we like it or not, God has ordained, with His permission for someone to be appointed to positions of power. We do not need to be afraid because God is sovereign.
'Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. ' Romans 13:1
We are called to submit to the Word of God, not to others. My pockets are protected by God. We should not worry about tomorrow, but trust God with what all might happen. Whoever gets into office was ordained and sanctioned by God. In the scripture, every bad and good king was allowed to be in power by God. Are you trusting God's promise to be faithful and sovereign?
All things work together for our good, no matter who is in power.
Read Romans 13:2-4 and be warned that anyone who goes against the authorities God has put into place and we ought to respect God's sovereign decision.
Read Matthew 24:1-13 Jesus tells us what will happen and what the signs are.
Matthew 25:1-13 tells us that Jesus is coming back and warns us to be prepared.
3. Prepare yourself for whatever is about to happen.
-
- Financially, so that you are not relying on others
- Spiritually, for the return of the Lord so that you may enter into His presence
- Emotionally, so that you are not swayed
Rely on Jesus Christ only and He will take care of you. You will not be able to handle what's about to happen without a relationship with Jesus Christ. We need a relationship with Jesus Christ in order to live this life, ready for anything to happen, including the return of Jesus Christ. Are you ready?
