1 Samuel 1

Waiting can be difficult, but it's always necessary for us. God knows what He is doing when He asks us to wait. He might be teaching you discipline. "It might be tight, but it is right."

  • If you are waiting for riches, remember everything belongs to God. If He wants you to have it, you have to learn first to manage the little that you have. That means waiting.
  • Maybe you're waiting on a house but it's not God's timing for you and He's asking you to wait.
  • Some of you are waiting for a spouse to love and be loved by.

Our time is not always God's time. He knows best. Thank Him right where you are. Praise Him and be happy with where you are. Don't disregard the Holy Ghost. Listen to Him. Waiting makes you wise. When He does provide it, it's yours to keep.

"Waiting" -  An act of staying in expectation; remaining in a state of readyness for something to happen. It involves a period of delay between desire or request ....

If God said He would do it, He will make it happen. It's coming. It might not come the way you want it but when it comes, it will be better than you expected. Wait in expectation.

  • "We walk by faith and not by sight." - 2 Corinthians 5:7  That faith comes from the Word of God and we need to go to it daily!
    • Are you going to the Word of God daily?
  • "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength..." - Isaiah 40:31
    • Are you waiting on the LORD?
  • [Read Ecclesiastes 3:1-7] - Remember there is a time for everything.
    • How are you waiting? What are you doing in the waiting?

[Read 1 Samuel 1:6] Sometimes we wonder "why is God letting me go through this?" Maybe it's so that when He takes us out of it, we can say IT WAS NO ONE BUT GOD who took us through!

God always gets the glory. Glory to God!

[Read 1 Samuel 1:9-18] Hannah prayed for a child. As Eli saw her, it looked to him like she was drunk. "She was deeply distressed and prayed to the Lord and wept bitterly." Hannah asked God for a son and promised Him that she would give her son back to the LORD if He chose to bless her.

[Read 1 Samuel 2:12-36] Later, Eli's sons who were disrespectful to the Lord were wiped out. God had already created a plan to  use Hannah's son, Samuel, as a better and more righteous priest. [Read 1 Samuel 1:19-20] But to do that, Hannah had to wait.

What is God asking you to wait for? Could it be possible that God wants you to wait so that the blessing is greater! Your healing is greater!
